Belgium stocks higher at close of trade; BEL 20 up 0.43%

Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Utilities , Healthcare and Financials sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 0.43%.

The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were UCB SA (EBR: UCB ), which rose 1.72% or 3.25 points to trade at 192.65 at the close. Meanwhile, Melexis NV (EBR: MLXS ) added 1.71% or 0.95 points to end at 56.60 and Galapagos NV (AS: GLPG ) was up 1.23% or 0.32 points to 26.24 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were D’Ieteren NV (EBR: IETB ), which fell 1.83% or 3.00 points to trade at 161.10 at the close. Azelis Corporate Services NV (EBR: AZE ) declined 1.62% or 0.31 points to end at 18.85 and Syensqo SA (EBR: SYENS ) was down 0.54% or 0.38 points to 69.97.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 67 to 26 and 18 ended unchanged.

Shares in UCB SA (EBR: UCB ) rose to all time highs; rising 1.72% or 3.25 to 192.65.

Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.87% or 23.19 to $2,630.71 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.90% or 0.63 to hit $70.25 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.78% or 0.57 to trade at $73.42 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.04% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.29% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 107.88.
