Mexico stocks higher at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC up 0.32%
Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Industrials , Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC added 0.32%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Grupo Comercial Chedraui, SAB De CV (BMV: CHDRAUIB ), which rose 4.81% or 5.67 points to trade at 123.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV: PEOLES ) added 3.64% or 11.64 points to end at 331.15 and Promotora y Operadora de Infraestructura SAB de CV (BMV: PINFRA ) was up 3.26% or 6.81 points to 215.48 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV: Q ), which fell 2.71% or 5.38 points to trade at 193.00 at the close. Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (BMV: LABB ) declined 2.12% or 0.59 points to end at 27.30 and Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV: ALSEA ) was down 1.97% or 1.01 points to 50.16.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 137 to 95 and 21 ended unchanged.
Shares in Promotora y Operadora de Infraestructura SAB de CV (BMV: PINFRA ) rose to 5-year highs; up 3.26% or 6.81 to 215.48.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.67% or 19.54 to $2,955.64 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 0.58% or 0.42 to hit $72.52 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 0.64% or 0.49 to trade at $76.53 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.65% to 20.30, while EUR/MXN rose 0.13% to 21.32.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.77% at 106.24.
