Russia stocks lower at close of trade; MOEX Russia Index down 0.31%

Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Oil & Gas , Manufacturing and Power sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index lost 0.31%.

The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were Magnitogorskiy Metallurgicheskiy Kombinat PAO (MCX: MAGN ), which rose 4.34% or 1.64 points to trade at 39.41 at the close. Meanwhile, PIK SHb PJSC (MCX: PIKK ) added 3.51% or 24.00 points to end at 706.90 and Severstal PJSC (MCX: CHMF ) was up 2.96% or 39.80 points to 1,385.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Moskovskaya Birzha PJSC (MCX: MOEX ), which fell 1.95% or 4.65 points to trade at 234.14 at the close. Gazprom PJSC (MCX: GAZP ) declined 1.16% or 2.00 points to end at 171.00 and Aeroflot PJSC (MCX: AFLT ) was down 1.10% or 0.85 points to 76.22.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 153 to 95 and 5 ended unchanged.

The Russian Volatility Index – RVI , which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was up 1.68% to 41.04.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.20% or 5.91 to $2,950.19 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 3.09% or 2.24 to hit $70.24 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 2.92% or 2.23 to trade at $74.25 a barrel.

USD/RUB was down 0.20% to 88.50, while EUR/RUB fell 0.58% to 92.56.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.26% at 106.55.
