Mexico stocks lower at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC down 1.17%

Investing.com – Mexico stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Industrials , Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC declined 1.17%.

The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV: PEOLES ), which rose 1.19% or 3.76 points to trade at 320.95 at the close. Meanwhile, Cemex SAB de CV (BMV: CEMEXCPO ) added 1.15% or 0.15 points to end at 13.20 and Becle SA (BMV: CUERVO ) was up 0.31% or 0.06 points to 19.54 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Orbia Advance Corporation SAB de CV (BMV: ORBIA ), which fell 7.77% or 1.23 points to trade at 14.61 at the close. Regional SAB de CV (BMV: RA ) declined 5.22% or 7.41 points to end at 134.44 and Alsea , S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV: ALSEA ) was down 4.40% or 2.17 points to 47.13.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 151 to 94 and 13 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 1.11% or 32.90 to $2,930.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 2.33% or 1.65 to hit $69.05 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 2.34% or 1.74 to trade at $72.57 a barrel.

USD/MXN was unchanged 0.00% to 20.47, while EUR/MXN rose 0.48% to 21.53.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.31% at 106.18.
