Brazil stocks higher at close of trade; Bovespa up 0.46%
Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Public Utilities , Electric Power and Financials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 0.46%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Azul SA Pref (BVMF: AZUL4 ), which rose 8.47% or 0.32 points to trade at 4.10 at the close. Meanwhile, Magazine Luiza SA (BVMF: MGLU3 ) added 7.42% or 0.51 points to end at 7.38 and LWSA SA (BVMF: LWSA3 ) was up 7.14% or 0.20 points to 3.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were MRV Engenharia e Participacoes SA (BVMF: MRVE3 ), which fell 4.67% or 0.25 points to trade at 5.10 at the close. Hapvida Participacoes e Investimentos (BVMF: HAPV3 ) declined 4.48% or 0.10 points to end at 2.13 and YDUQS Participacoes SA (BVMF: YDUQ3 ) was down 4.42% or 0.50 points to 10.82.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 514 to 443 and 68 ended unchanged.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 0.21% to 28.02.
Gold Futures for April delivery was down 1.14% or 33.64 to $2,929.56 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 2.14% or 1.51 to hit $69.19 a barrel, while the May US coffee C contract fell 2.86% or 11.00 to trade at $373.80 .
USD/BRL was down 0.48% to 5.75, while EUR/BRL fell 0.19% to 6.04.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.31% at 106.18.
