Investing.com – Germany stocks were mixed after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Food & Beverages , Telecoms and Insurance sectors led shares higher while losses in the Construction , Technology and Industrials sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX declined 0.13%, while the MDAX index gained 0.56%, and the TecDAX index lost 0.58%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Heidelberg Materials AG (ETR: HEIG ), which rose 3.58% or 4.90 points to trade at 141.75 at the close. Meanwhile, Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (ETR: VOWG_p ) added 3.45% or 3.50 points to end at 104.95 and Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (ETR: BMWG ) was up 2.76% or 2.30 points to 85.68 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Siemens Energy AG (ETR: ENR1n ), which fell 7.34% or 4.08 points to trade at 51.54 at the close. Infineon Technologies AG NA O.N. (ETR: IFXGn ) declined 2.63% or 1.00 points to end at 37.02 and Beiersdorf AG O.N. (ETR: BEIG ) was down 2.44% or 3.15 points to 125.90.

The top performers on the MDAX were Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR: TKAG ) which rose 9.61% to 6.93, K+S AG (ETR: SDFGn ) which was up 4.38% to settle at 13.48 and Traton SE (ETR: 8TRA ) which gained 3.90% to close at 36.00.

The worst performers were Hypoport AG (ETR: HYQGn ) which was down 4.34% to 207.00 in late trade, HelloFresh SE (ETR: HFGG ) which lost 3.70% to settle at 12.51 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR: EVTG ) which was down 3.61% to 8.28 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Nordex SE O.N. (ETR: NDXG ) which rose 3.17% to 12.38, Hensoldt Ag (ETR: HAGG ) which was up 2.90% to settle at 49.00 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR: AFXG ) which gained 2.74% to close at 56.30.

The worst performers were SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR: SMHNn ) which was down 5.87% to 40.10 in late trade, Elmos Semiconductor AG (ETR: ELGG ) which lost 3.72% to settle at 69.80 and Evotec AG O.N. (ETR: EVTG ) which was down 3.61% to 8.28 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 358 to 262 and 37 ended unchanged.

Shares in Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR: TKAG ) rose to 52-week highs; up 9.61% or 0.61 to 6.93. Shares in Traton SE (ETR: 8TRA ) rose to all time highs; rising 3.90% or 1.35 to 36.00. Shares in Hensoldt Ag (ETR: HAGG ) rose to all time highs; gaining 2.90% or 1.38 to 49.00.

The DAX volatility index , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 9.43% to 16.71.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 1.90% or 56.41 to $2,906.79 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 2.56% or 1.81 to hit $68.89 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 2.53% or 1.88 to trade at $72.43 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.21% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.12% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 106.39.
