Brazil stocks lower at close of trade; Bovespa down 0.96%
Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Real Estate , Public Utilities and Electric Power sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa fell 0.96%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Ambev SA (BVMF: ABEV3 ), which rose 5.50% or 0.61 points to trade at 11.70 at the close. Meanwhile, Metalurgica Gerdau SA (BVMF: GOAU4 ) added 2.13% or 0.19 points to end at 9.12 and Gerdau SA Pref (BVMF: GGBR4 ) was up 2.02% or 0.33 points to 16.65 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were IRB Brasil Resseguros SA (BVMF: IRBR3 ), which fell 18.26% or 10.03 points to trade at 44.90 at the close. WEG SA (BVMF: WEGE3 ) declined 8.68% or 4.55 points to end at 47.85 and MRV Engenharia e Participacoes SA (BVMF: MRVE3 ) was down 7.84% or 0.40 points to 4.70.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 516 to 430 and 44 ended unchanged.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 3.89% to 26.93.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.46% or 13.50 to $2,932.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.22% or 0.15 to hit $68.78 a barrel, while the May US coffee C contract fell 1.12% or 4.20 to trade at $371.70 .
USD/BRL was up 1.26% to 5.81, while EUR/BRL rose 0.79% to 6.08.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 106.47.
