Russia stocks lower at close of trade; MOEX Russia Index down 1.74%
Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms , Power and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index lost 1.74%.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were Moskovskiy Kreditnyi Bank PAO (MCX: CBOM ), which rose 0.50% or 0.05 points to trade at 10.62 at the close. Meanwhile, OK Rusal MKPAO (MCX: RUAL ) added 0.39% or 0.16 points to end at 41.03 and Polyus PJSC (MCX: PLZL ) was up 0.21% or 41.00 points to 19,562.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Rostelekom PJSC (MCX: RTKM ), which fell 7.55% or 6.01 points to trade at 73.56 at the close. VK Company Ltd (MCX: VKCO ) declined 5.13% or 18.10 points to end at 335.00 and Unipro PJSC (MCX: UPRO ) was down 4.75% or 0.13 points to 2.55.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 210 to 40 and 4 ended unchanged.
Shares in Moskovskiy Kreditnyi Bank PAO (MCX: CBOM ) rose to all time highs; rising 0.50% or 0.05 to 10.62. Shares in Polyus PJSC (MCX: PLZL ) rose to all time highs; gaining 0.21% or 41.00 to 19,562.00.
The Russian Volatility Index – RVI , which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was down 4.01% to 43.14.
Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.48% or 13.90 to $2,932.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.19% or 0.13 to hit $68.80 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.36% or 0.26 to trade at $72.24 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 0.26% to 86.83, while EUR/RUB rose 0.02% to 91.06.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 106.45.
