Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Basic Materials , Technology and Financials sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.25%.

The best performers of the session on the AEX were Randstad NV (AS: RAND ), which rose 5.52% or 2.09 points to trade at 39.98 at the close. Meanwhile, ArcelorMittal SA (AS: MT ) added 5.39% or 1.43 points to end at 27.97 and NN Group NV (AS: NN ) was up 3.06% or 1.45 points to 48.81 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Wolters Kluwer (AS: WLSNc ), which fell 10.85% or 18.70 points to trade at 153.65 at the close. Relx PLC (AS: REL ) declined 2.42% or 1.14 points to end at 45.96 and Universal Music Group NV (AS: UMG ) was down 1.19% or 0.33 points to 27.48.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 67 to 33 and 12 ended unchanged.

Shares in ArcelorMittal SA (AS: MT ) rose to 52-week highs; rising 5.39% or 1.43 to 27.97. Shares in NN Group NV (AS: NN ) rose to 3-years highs; up 3.06% or 1.45 to 48.81.

The AEX Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.

Crude oil for April delivery was down 0.07% or 0.05 to $68.88 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May fell 0.26% or 0.19 to hit $72.31 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.32% or 9.31 to trade at $2,928.11 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.02% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.23% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.03% at 106.20.
