Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Insurance , Industrials and Utilities sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX gained 1.73%, while the MDAX index added 1.77%, and the TecDAX index gained 0.27%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Siemens Energy AG (ETR: ENR1n ), which rose 8.54% or 4.40 points to trade at 55.94 at the close. Meanwhile, Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (ETR: FREG ) added 6.48% or 2.37 points to end at 38.93 and Munich Reinsurance (ETR: MUVGn ) was up 4.82% or 25.40 points to 552.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR: DTEGn ), which fell 3.26% or 1.14 points to trade at 33.84 at the close. Zalando SE (ETR: ZALG ) declined 1.66% or 0.62 points to end at 36.78 and Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR: P911_p ) was down 0.34% or 0.20 points to 59.12.

The top performers on the MDAX were AUTO1 Group SE (ETR: AG1G ) which rose 20.68% to 22.70, Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR: TKAG ) which was up 8.25% to settle at 7.51 and Redcare Pharmacy NV (ETR: RDC ) which gained 6.56% to close at 123.40.

The worst performers were Stroeer SE (ETR: SAXG ) which was down 8.28% to 53.20 in late trade, HelloFresh SE (ETR: HFGG ) which lost 4.04% to settle at 12.00 and K+S AG (ETR: SDFGn ) which was down 1.48% to 13.27 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Hensoldt Ag (ETR: HAGG ) which rose 3.98% to 50.95, Aixtron SE (ETR: AIXGn ) which was up 3.66% to settle at 14.43 and Sartorius AG VZO O.N. (ETR: SATG_p ) which gained 3.62% to close at 246.00.

The worst performers were Deutsche Telekom AG Na (ETR: DTEGn ) which was down 3.26% to 33.84 in late trade, CompuGroup Medical AG O.N. (ETR: COP1n ) which lost 0.62% to settle at 22.60 and TeamViewer AG (ETR: TMV ) which was down 0.57% to 12.26 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 442 to 177 and 30 ended unchanged.

Shares in Fresenius SE & Co KGAA O.N. (ETR: FREG ) rose to 3-years highs; up 6.48% or 2.37 to 38.93. Shares in Munich Reinsurance (ETR: MUVGn ) rose to all time highs; gaining 4.82% or 25.40 to 552.00. Shares in AUTO1 Group SE (ETR: AG1G ) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 20.68% or 3.89 to 22.70. Shares in Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR: TKAG ) rose to 52-week highs; rising 8.25% or 0.57 to 7.51. Shares in Hensoldt Ag (ETR: HAGG ) rose to all time highs; up 3.98% or 1.95 to 50.95.

The DAX volatility index , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 4.81% to 17.52.

Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.33% or 9.59 to $2,928.39 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.04% or 0.03 to hit $68.90 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.23% or 0.17 to trade at $72.33 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.01% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.23% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 106.22.
