Portugal stocks higher at close of trade; PSI up 1.95%

Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Utilities , Financials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Lisbon, the PSI added 1.95%.

The best performers of the session on the PSI were Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI: RENE ), which rose 5.60% or 0.14 points to trade at 2.64 at the close. Meanwhile, EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI: EDP ) added 4.74% or 0.14 points to end at 3.11 and EDP Renovaveis (ELI: EDPR ) was up 3.59% or 0.28 points to 8.23 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI: MOTA ), which fell 0.98% or 0.03 points to trade at 3.23 at the close. Semapa (ELI: SEM ) declined 0.65% or 0.10 points to end at 15.24 and Altri SGPS SA (ELI: ALSS ) was down 0.57% or 0.04 points to 6.07.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 15 to 12 and 2 ended unchanged.

Shares in Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI: RENE ) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 5.60% or 0.14 to 2.64.

Brent oil for May delivery was up 1.37% or 0.95 to $70.41 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 1.21% or 0.80 to hit $67.16 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.13% or 3.80 to trade at $2,922.80 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was up 0.62% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.38% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.35% at 103.66.
