Netherlands stocks higher at close of trade; AEX up 0.58%

Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas , Financials and Consumer Goods sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX rose 0.58%.

The best performers of the session on the AEX were ING Groep NV (AS: INGA ), which rose 2.72% or 0.50 points to trade at 18.80 at the close. Meanwhile, ABN AMRO Group NV (AS: ABNd ) added 2.37% or 0.47 points to end at 20.26 and BE Semiconductor Industries NV (AS: BESI ) was up 2.27% or 2.40 points to 108.30 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Heineken (AS: HEIN ), which fell 0.98% or 0.74 points to trade at 74.86 at the close. IMCD NV (AS: IMCD ) declined 0.97% or 1.25 points to end at 127.00 and DSM Firmenich AG (AS: DSFIR ) was down 0.61% or 0.56 points to 91.06.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 71 to 28 and 10 ended unchanged.

Shares in ABN AMRO Group NV (AS: ABNd ) rose to 5-year highs; rising 2.37% or 0.47 to 20.26. Shares in IMCD NV (AS: IMCD ) fell to 52-week lows; falling 0.97% or 1.25 to 127.00. Shares in DSM Firmenich AG (AS: DSFIR ) fell to 52-week lows; falling 0.61% or 0.56 to 91.06.

The AEX Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.

Crude oil for May delivery was down 0.30% or 0.21 to $68.90 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.17% or 0.12 to hit $72.25 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.43% or 13.09 to trade at $3,057.09 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.14% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.17% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.23% at 103.70.
