Brazil stocks higher at close of trade; Bovespa up 0.47%
Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumption , Industrials and Public Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa rose 0.47% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were JBS SA (BVMF: JBSS3 ), which rose 5.83% or 2.31 points to trade at 41.95 at the close. Meanwhile, Hapvida Participacoes e Investimentos (BVMF: HAPV3 ) added 5.38% or 0.12 points to end at 2.35 and Cogna Educacao SA (BVMF: COGN3 ) was up 5.15% or 0.10 points to 2.04 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Marcopolo SA (BVMF: POMO4 ), which fell 4.98% or 0.35 points to trade at 6.68 at the close. Cvc Brasil ON (BVMF: CVCB3 ) declined 2.58% or 0.06 points to end at 2.27 and Grupo Vamos SA (BVMF: VAMO3 ) was down 2.28% or 0.12 points to 5.15.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 517 to 396 and 68 ended unchanged.
Shares in JBS SA (BVMF: JBSS3 ) rose to all time highs; rising 5.83% or 2.31 to 41.95.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 0.33% to 30.22.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.50% or 45.86 to $3,098.16 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.30% or 0.21 to hit $69.86 a barrel, while the May US coffee C contract fell 3.35% or 13.15 to trade at $378.85 .
USD/BRL was up 0.22% to 5.75, while EUR/BRL rose 0.56% to 6.20.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.26% at 103.94.
