Mexico stocks higher at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC up 1.63%
Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Industrials , Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 1.63%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Becle SA (BMV: CUERVO ), which rose 5.79% or 1.09 points to trade at 19.91 at the close. Meanwhile, Gentera SAB de CV (BMV: GENTERA ) added 4.88% or 1.54 points to end at 33.07 and Megacable Holdings, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV: MEGACPO ) was up 3.73% or 1.60 points to 44.55 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Orbia Advance Corporation SAB de CV (BMV: ORBIA ), which fell 1.35% or 0.21 points to trade at 15.39 at the close. Kimberly - Clark De Mexico A (BMV: KIMBERA ) declined 1.04% or 0.35 points to end at 33.20 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (BMV: LABB ) was down 1.03% or 0.26 points to 25.06.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 132 to 91 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in Gentera SAB de CV (BMV: GENTERA ) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 4.88% or 1.54 to 33.07.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.06% or 1.75 to $3,148.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.49% or 0.35 to hit $71.13 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract fell 0.47% or 0.35 to trade at $74.42 a barrel.
USD/MXN was down 0.05% to 20.34, while EUR/MXN unchanged 0.00% to 21.95.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 103.92.
