Russia stocks lower at close of trade; MOEX Russia Index down 1.60%
Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas , Mining and Power sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index declined 1.60% to hit a new 1-month low.
The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were Magnit PJSC (MCX: MGNT ), which rose 5.18% or 229.00 points to trade at 4,646.50 at the close. Meanwhile, GDR ROS AGRO PLC ORD SHS (MCX: AGRODR ) unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to end at 1,083.80 and Federal Hydro Generating Company RusHydro PJSC (MCX: HYDR ) was unchanged 0.91% or 0.00 points to 0.49 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Gazprom PJSC (MCX: GAZP ), which fell 5.62% or 8.19 points to trade at 137.50 at the close. Aeroflot PJSC (MCX: AFLT ) declined 5.18% or 3.61 points to end at 66.02 and PIK SHb PJSC (MCX: PIKK ) was down 4.89% or 26.10 points to 508.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 138 to 106 and 9 ended unchanged.
Shares in GDR ROS AGRO PLC ORD SHS (MCX: AGRODR ) unchanged to 52-week lows; unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to 1,083.80.
The Russian Volatility Index – RVI , which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was up 4.09% to 47.33.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.06% or 1.75 to $3,148.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May fell 0.49% or 0.35 to hit $71.13 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.01% or 0.01 to trade at $74.42 a barrel.
USD/RUB was up 1.79% to 84.50, while EUR/RUB rose 1.56% to 91.18.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 103.92.
