France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 2.50%
Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology , Industrials and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 2.50%, while the SBF 120 index added 2.57%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Thales (EPA: TCFP ), which rose 5.44% or 12.40 points to trade at 240.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Capgemini SE (EPA: CAPP ) added 5.11% or 6.15 points to end at 126.55 and Safran SA (EPA: SAF ) was up 5.02% or 10.10 points to 211.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Renault SA (EPA: RENA ), which fell 1.01% or 0.43 points to trade at 42.01 at the close. Stellantis NV (EPA: STLAM ) declined 0.84% or 0.07 points to end at 8.22 and Orange SA (EPA: ORAN ) was down 0.25% or 0.03 points to 11.91.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Emeis SA (EPA: EMEIS ) which rose 9.83% to 11.15, Clariane SE (EPA: CLARI ) which was up 7.72% to settle at 3.88 and Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (EPA: STDM ) which gained 7.29% to close at 164.05.
The worst performers were Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA: ETL ) which was down 2.89% to 3.87 in late trade, Forvia (EPA: FRVIA ) which lost 2.40% to settle at 5.70 and Valeo SA (EPA: VLOF ) which was down 1.23% to 7.40 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 414 to 95 and 55 ended unchanged.
Shares in Stellantis NV (EPA: STLAM ) fell to 3-years lows; losing 0.84% or 0.07 to 8.22. Shares in Forvia (EPA: FRVIA ) fell to 5-year lows; falling 2.40% or 0.14 to 5.70. Shares in Valeo SA (EPA: VLOF ) fell to 5-year lows; down 1.23% or 0.09 to 7.40.
The CAC 40 VIX , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.23% or 36.65 to $3,010.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 0.86% or 0.52 to hit $61.22 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.28% or 0.18 to trade at $64.39 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.50% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.52% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 103.10.
