Greece stocks higher at close of trade; Athens General Composite up 1.82%
Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking , Construction and Travel sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 1.82%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Optima bank SA (AT: OPTIMAr ), which rose 7.14% or 1.00 points to trade at 15.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT: EURBr ) added 5.87% or 0.14 points to end at 2.45 and Alpha Bank SA (AT: ACBr ) was up 5.36% or 0.11 points to 2.18 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Papoutsanis Industrial and Commercial of Consumer Goods SA (AT: PSALr ), which fell 5.58% or 0.14 points to trade at 2.37 at the close. Performance Technologies IT Solutions (AT: PREFr ) declined 4.02% or 0.22 points to end at 5.25 and Orilina Properties AEEAP (AT: ORILINAr ) was down 3.05% or 0.02 points to 0.76.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 85 to 41 and 12 ended unchanged.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.38% or 12.91 to $3,438.21 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.36% or 0.85 to hit $63.26 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 1.07% or 0.71 to trade at $66.97 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.32% to 1.15, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.41% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 98.31.
