Brazil stocks higher at close of trade; Bovespa up 0.63%
Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Real Estate , Financials and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 0.63%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were MRV Engenharia e Participacoes SA (BVMF: MRVE3 ), which rose 8.26% or 0.46 points to trade at 6.03 at the close. Meanwhile, Braskem SA (BVMF: BRKM5 ) added 7.50% or 0.77 points to end at 11.04 and Companhia Brasileira De Distribuica (BVMF: PCAR3 ) was up 6.40% or 0.24 points to 3.99 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Embraer SA (BVMF: EMBR3 ), which fell 3.45% or 2.18 points to trade at 60.97 at the close. Localiza Rent a Car SA (BVMF: RENT3 ) declined 2.73% or 1.10 points to end at 39.15 and Raia Drogasil SA (BVMF: RADL3 ) was down 2.61% or 0.54 points to 20.15.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 480 to 467 and 67 ended unchanged.
Shares in Companhia Brasileira De Distribuica (BVMF: PCAR3 ) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 6.40% or 0.24 to 3.99.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 2.06% to 34.74.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.92% or 31.66 to $3,393.64 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.86% or 1.16 to hit $63.57 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract rose 2.76% or 10.05 to trade at $374.60 .
USD/BRL was down 1.33% to 5.73, while EUR/BRL fell 2.09% to 6.54.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.71% at 98.74.
