Taiwan stocks lower at close of trade; Taiwan Weighted down 1.49%
Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , Iron & Steel and Machinery sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted fell 1.49%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Super Dragon Technology Co Ltd (TW: 9955 ), which rose 9.98% or 2.85 points to trade at 31.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Nanya Technology Corp (TW: 2408 ) added 9.92% or 3.50 points to end at 38.80 and Lung Hwa Electronics Co Ltd (TW: 2424 ) was up 9.87% or 6.10 points to 67.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were CTCI Corp (TW: 9933 ), which fell 9.97% or 3.15 points to trade at 28.45 at the close. China Container Terminal Corp (TW: 2613 ) declined 9.97% or 3.15 points to end at 28.45 and Shin Zu Shing Co Ltd (TW: 3376 ) was down 9.92% or 18.50 points to 168.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.
Shares in CTCI Corp (TW: 9933 ) fell to 5-year lows; down 9.97% or 3.15 to 28.45.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 1.10% or 0.70 to $64.37 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June rose 1.04% or 0.70 to hit $68.14 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 2.60% or 88.86 to trade at $3,330.54 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.27% to 32.50, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.26% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.40% at 99.08.
