Taiwan stocks higher at close of trade; Taiwan Weighted up 0.81%
Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Electrical/Machinery , Electronic Products Distribution and Other Electronic sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted gained 0.81%.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were Calin Technology Co Ltd (TW: 4976 ), which rose 10.00% or 2.60 points to trade at 28.60 at the close. Meanwhile, ALi Corp (TW: 3041 ) added 10.00% or 2.45 points to end at 26.95 and Evertex Fabrinology Ltd (TW: 1470 ) was up 10.00% or 2.35 points to 25.85 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Cosmo Electronics Corp (TW: 2466 ), which fell 8.78% or 9.00 points to trade at 93.50 at the close. Lung Hwa Electronics Co Ltd (TW: 2424 ) declined 7.05% or 5.20 points to end at 68.60 and Chung Fu Tex-International Corp (TW: 1435 ) was down 5.15% or 1.85 points to 34.10.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.
Shares in Evertex Fabrinology Ltd (TW: 1470 ) rose to 52-week highs; up 10.00% or 2.35 to 25.85.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 1.32% or 0.80 to $59.62 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 1.17% or 0.74 to hit $62.54 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.43% or 14.49 to trade at $3,319.11 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 1.12% to 31.98, while TWD/CNY unchanged 1.14% to 0.23.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 99.05.
