Turkey stocks lower at close of trade; BIST 100 down 1.59%

Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Transport , Wholesale & Retail Trade and Food & Beverages sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 fell 1.59% to hit a new 1-month low.

The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Batisoke Soke Cimento Sanayi TAS (IS: BSOKE ), which rose 7.46% or 1.44 points to trade at 20.74 at the close. Meanwhile, Pasifik Eurasia Lojistik Dis Ticaret AS (IS: PASEU ) added 5.60% or 3.30 points to end at 62.25 and Ral Yatirim Holding AS (IS: RALYH ) was up 4.62% or 5.20 points to 117.80 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Mia Teknoloji AS (IS: MIATK ), which fell 5.08% or 1.86 points to trade at 34.74 at the close. Turkish Airlines (IS: THYAO ) declined 4.53% or 13.50 points to end at 284.25 and Borusan Birlesik Boru Fabrikalari Sanayi Ve Ticaret AS (IS: BRSAN ) was down 4.47% or 17.00 points to 363.00.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 436 to 146 and 8 ended unchanged.

Shares in Pasifik Eurasia Lojistik Dis Ticaret AS (IS: PASEU ) rose to all time highs; rising 5.60% or 3.30 to 62.25. Shares in Ral Yatirim Holding AS (IS: RALYH ) rose to all time highs; gaining 4.62% or 5.20 to 117.80.

Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.56% or 18.51 to $3,315.09 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.58% or 0.35 to hit $60.07 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.82% or 0.52 to trade at $62.76 a barrel.

USD/TRY was up 0.14% to 38.48, while EUR/TRY rose 0.02% to 43.76.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.37% at 99.38.
