Greece stocks lower at close of trade; Athens General Composite down 0.67%

Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Banking , Telecoms and Household sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite lost 0.67%.

The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Coca Cola HBC AG (AT: EEEr ), which rose 2.12% or 0.94 points to trade at 45.18 at the close. Meanwhile, Gr Sarantis SA (AT: SRSr ) added 1.81% or 0.24 points to end at 13.50 and Thessaloniki Port Authority SA (AT: OLTr ) was up 1.52% or 0.50 points to 33.50 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Crete Plastics SA (AT: PLAKR ), which fell 4.03% or 0.60 points to trade at 14.30 at the close. Ellaktor SA (AT: HELr ) declined 3.43% or 0.05 points to end at 1.30 and Performance Technologies IT Solutions (AT: PREFr ) was down 3.23% or 0.18 points to 5.40.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 91 to 36 and 20 ended unchanged.

Shares in Coca Cola HBC AG (AT: EEEr ) rose to all time highs; rising 2.12% or 0.94 to 45.18. Shares in Gr Sarantis SA (AT: SRSr ) rose to 5-year highs; gaining 1.81% or 0.24 to 13.50. Shares in Thessaloniki Port Authority SA (AT: OLTr ) rose to 5-year highs; rising 1.52% or 0.50 to 33.50.

Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.55% or 18.41 to $3,315.19 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 1.74% or 1.05 to hit $59.37 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 1.82% or 1.15 to trade at $62.13 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.23% to 1.14, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.21% to 0.85.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 99.22.
