Mexico stocks higher at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC up 1.16%
Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Industrials , Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC added 1.16%.
The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Industrias Penoles Sab De CV (BMV: PEOLES ), which rose 4.36% or 16.43 points to trade at 392.99 at the close. Meanwhile, Wal Mart de Mexico SAB de CV (BMV: WALMEX ) added 4.04% or 2.41 points to end at 62.13 and Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (BMV: BOLSAA ) was up 3.66% or 1.46 points to 41.32 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (BMV: LABB ), which fell 6.87% or 1.69 points to trade at 22.92 at the close. Grupo Bimbo, S.A.B. De C.V. (BMV: BIMBOA ) declined 6.18% or 3.93 points to end at 59.67 and Orbia Advance Corporation SAB de CV (BMV: ORBIA ) was down 4.75% or 0.66 points to 13.24.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 123 to 93 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in Bolsa Mexicana De Valores SAB De CV (BMV: BOLSAA ) rose to 3-years highs; rising 3.66% or 1.46 to 41.32.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 1.03% or 34.30 to $3,299.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 3.62% or 2.19 to hit $58.23 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 3.48% or 2.20 to trade at $61.08 a barrel.
USD/MXN was up 0.05% to 19.61, while EUR/MXN rose 0.09% to 22.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.42% at 99.44.
