Brazil stocks lower at close of trade; Bovespa down 0.02%
Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Industrials , Basic Materials and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 0.02%.
The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were IRB Brasil Resseguros SA (BVMF: IRBR3 ), which rose 5.31% or 2.41 points to trade at 47.83 at the close. Meanwhile, CPFL Energia SA (BVMF: CPFE3 ) added 5.22% or 1.89 points to end at 38.19 and Banco Santander Brasil SA Unit (BVMF: SANB11 ) was up 3.94% or 1.12 points to 29.52 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Azul SA Pref (BVMF: AZUL4 ), which fell 15.52% or 0.27 points to trade at 1.47 at the close. WEG SA (BVMF: WEGE3 ) declined 11.55% or 5.83 points to end at 44.64 and Companhia Brasileira De Distribuica (BVMF: PCAR3 ) was down 7.84% or 0.36 points to 4.23.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 555 to 415 and 46 ended unchanged.
Shares in Azul SA Pref (BVMF: AZUL4 ) fell to all time lows; losing 15.52% or 0.27 to 1.47.
The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 1.46% to 29.78.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.97% or 32.23 to $3,301.37 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 3.51% or 2.12 to hit $58.30 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract fell 0.13% or 0.50 to trade at $399.30 .
USD/BRL was up 1.01% to 5.68, while EUR/BRL rose 0.45% to 6.43.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.45% at 99.46.
