Norway stocks higher at close of trade; Oslo OBX up 1.46%

Investing.com – Norway stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Healthcare Equipment & Services , Pharma Biotech & Life Sciences and Utilities sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Oslo, the Oslo OBX gained 1.46% to hit a new 1-month high.

The best performers of the session on the Oslo OBX were Nordic Semiconductor ASA (OL: NOD ), which rose 9.27% or 9.50 points to trade at 112.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Norwegian Air Shuttle ASA (OL: NAS ) added 3.16% or 0.43 points to end at 14.05 and Hoegh Autoliners ASA (OL: HAUTO ) was up 3.13% or 2.60 points to 85.60 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Var Energi ASA (OL: VAR ), which fell 1.05% or 0.30 points to trade at 28.27 at the close. Aker BP ASA (OL: AKRBP ) declined 0.54% or 1.20 points to end at 222.00 and Nel ASA (OL: NEL ) was down 0.45% or 0.01 points to 2.21.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Oslo Stock Exchange by 183 to 98 and 18 ended unchanged.

Crude oil for June delivery was down 1.43% or 0.85 to $58.39 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 1.27% or 0.79 to hit $61.34 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 1.54% or 49.51 to trade at $3,271.71 a troy ounce.

EUR/NOK was up 0.12% to 11.77, while USD/NOK fell 0.56% to 10.35.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.77% at 99.28.
