Italy stocks higher at close of trade; Investing.com Italy 40 up 0.36%

Investing.com – Italy stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology , Industrials and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 0.36% to hit a new 5-year high.

The best performers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Stellantis NV (BIT: STLAM ), which rose 4.39% or 0.41 points to trade at 9.77 at the close. Meanwhile, Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (BIT: BMPS ) added 4.20% or 0.34 points to end at 8.32 and Iveco Group NV (BIT: IVG ) was up 3.81% or 0.60 points to 16.20 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Davide Campari Milano SpA (BIT: CPRI ), which fell 2.96% or 0.18 points to trade at 5.83 at the close. A2A SpA (BIT: A2 ) declined 2.38% or 0.05 points to end at 2.17 and Nexi SpA (BIT: NEXII ) was down 2.17% or 0.12 points to 5.42.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Milan Stock Exchange by 356 to 234 and 45 ended unchanged.

Shares in Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (BIT: BMPS ) rose to 52-week highs; rising 4.20% or 0.34 to 8.32.

Crude oil for June delivery was up 2.92% or 1.81 to $63.76 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 2.62% or 1.70 to hit $66.66 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 1.01% or 32.65 to trade at $3,260.65 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was up 0.79% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.67% at 100.92.
