Greece stocks lower at close of trade; Athens General Composite down 0.29%

Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms , Household and Basic Resources sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite lost 0.29%.

The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Piraeus Port (AT: OLPr ), which rose 2.25% or 1.00 points to trade at 45.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Petros Petropoulos SA (AT: PTRr ) added 2.20% or 0.20 points to end at 9.30 and Ideal Group SA (AT: IDEr ) was up 1.75% or 0.11 points to 6.39 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Performance Technologies IT Solutions (AT: PREFr ), which fell 4.01% or 0.25 points to trade at 5.98 at the close. Crete Plastics SA (AT: PLAKR ) declined 3.33% or 0.50 points to end at 14.50 and Optima bank SA (AT: OPTIMAr ) was down 1.92% or 0.32 points to 16.32.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 73 to 48 and 21 ended unchanged.

Shares in Piraeus Port (AT: OLPr ) rose to all time highs; rising 2.25% or 1.00 to 45.50.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.54% or 17.09 to $3,205.39 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 2.91% or 1.84 to hit $61.31 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 2.81% or 1.86 to trade at $64.23 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.14% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.02% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 100.72.
