Mexico stocks higher at close of trade; S&P/BMV IPC up 0.05%

Investing.com – Mexico stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Industrials , Consumer Goods & Services and Consumer Staples sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Mexico, the S&P/BMV IPC gained 0.05% to hit a new 52-week high.

The best performers of the session on the S&P/BMV IPC were Regional SAB de CV (BMV: RA ), which rose 4.96% or 7.33 points to trade at 155.04 at the close. Meanwhile, Banco Del Bajio SA Institution De Banca Multiple (BMV: BBAJIOO ) added 2.51% or 1.26 points to end at 51.49 and Genomma Lab Internacional SAB De CV (BMV: LABB ) was up 1.97% or 0.42 points to 21.78 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were GCC SAB de CV (BMV: GCC ), which fell 2.28% or 4.13 points to trade at 177.40 at the close. Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacifico SAB De CV Class B (BMV: GAPB ) declined 1.55% or 6.80 points to end at 431.01 and Qualitas Controladora, SAB De CV (BMV: Q ) was down 1.22% or 2.70 points to 218.15.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Mexico Stock Exchange by 149 to 64 and 21 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.61% or 19.55 to $3,207.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.40% or 0.86 to hit $62.48 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 1.32% or 0.85 to trade at $65.38 a barrel.

USD/MXN was down 0.11% to 19.46, while EUR/MXN fell 0.31% to 21.73.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 100.84.
