Brazil stocks lower at close of trade; Bovespa down 0.11%

Investing.com – Brazil stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials , Basic Materials and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa declined 0.11%.

The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were Marfrig Alimentos SA (BVMF: MRFG3 ), which rose 21.35% or 4.41 points to trade at 25.07 at the close. Meanwhile, Pet Center Comercio e Partcipacoes (BVMF: PETZ3 ) added 7.18% or 0.30 points to end at 4.48 and Cvc Brasil ON (BVMF: CVCB3 ) was up 5.86% or 0.13 points to 2.35 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Banco do Brasil SA (BVMF: BBAS3 ), which fell 12.69% or 3.73 points to trade at 25.67 at the close. YDUQS Participacoes SA (BVMF: YDUQ3 ) declined 3.63% or 0.58 points to end at 15.39 and Azul SA Pref (BVMF: AZUL4 ) was down 2.63% or 0.03 points to 1.11.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 619 to 342 and 42 ended unchanged.

Shares in Marfrig Alimentos SA (BVMF: MRFG3 ) rose to all time highs; gaining 21.35% or 4.41 to 25.07. Shares in Azul SA Pref (BVMF: AZUL4 ) fell to all time lows; losing 2.63% or 0.03 to 1.11.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 0.36% to 30.27.

Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.83% or 26.86 to $3,199.74 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 1.23% or 0.76 to hit $62.38 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract fell 2.52% or 9.45 to trade at $365.55 .

USD/BRL was down 0.28% to 5.67, while EUR/BRL fell 0.63% to 6.32.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 100.94.
