Taiwan stocks higher at close of trade; Taiwan Weighted up 0.52%
Investing.com – Taiwan stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Transport , Paper & Pulp and Chemicals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted added 0.52% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Taiwan Weighted were National Aerospace Fasteners Corp (TW: 3004 ), which rose 10.00% or 11.00 points to trade at 121.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Champion Microelectronic Corp (TW: 3257 ) added 9.98% or 5.50 points to end at 60.60 and Tidehold Development Co Ltd (TW: 9902 ) was up 9.97% or 1.50 points to 16.55 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Tatung Co (TW: 2371 ), which fell 8.07% or 3.60 points to trade at 41.00 at the close. Merida Industry Co Ltd (TW: 9914 ) declined 7.22% or 9.50 points to end at 122.00 and Giant Manufacturing Co Ltd (TW: 9921 ) was down 6.11% or 8.00 points to 123.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.
Shares in National Aerospace Fasteners Corp (TW: 3004 ) rose to 52-week highs; rising 10.00% or 11.00 to 121.00.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.65% or 0.40 to $61.57 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.63% or 0.41 to hit $65.00 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 1.25% or 39.85 to trade at $3,227.15 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.06% to 30.20, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.21% to 0.24.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 100.65.
