Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Food & Beverages , Utilities and Industrials sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX rose 0.58% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index gained 0.59%, and the TecDAX index added 0.10%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Siemens Energy AG (ETR: ENR1n ), which rose 3.55% or 2.68 points to trade at 78.14 at the close. Meanwhile, Munich Reinsurance (ETR: MUVGn ) added 1.76% or 10.00 points to end at 577.20 and Rheinmetall AG (ETR: RHMG ) was up 1.71% or 29.50 points to 1,752.50 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Volkswagen AG VZO O.N. (ETR: VOWG_p ), which fell 5.20% or 5.35 points to trade at 97.50 at the close. Porsche Automobil Holding SE (ETR: PSHG_p ) declined 1.58% or 0.60 points to end at 37.29 and Dr Ing hc F Porsche AG Preferred (ETR: P911_p ) was down 1.21% or 0.56 points to 45.67.

The top performers on the MDAX were RENK Group AG (ETR: R3NK ) which rose 3.86% to 62.19, AUTO1 Group SE (ETR: AG1G ) which was up 2.93% to settle at 24.60 and Deutsche Lufthansa AG (ETR: LHAG ) which gained 2.61% to close at 6.69.

The worst performers were Evotec AG O.N. (ETR: EVTG ) which was down 2.61% to 7.01 in late trade, Aixtron SE (ETR: AIXGn ) which lost 2.35% to settle at 12.44 and Carl Zeiss Meditec AG (ETR: AFXG ) which was down 1.69% to 61.00 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were IONOS Group SE (ETR: IOSn ) which rose 2.69% to 36.30, Hensoldt Ag (ETR: HAGG ) which was up 2.60% to settle at 75.00 and Draegerwerk VZO O.N. (ETR: DRWG_p ) which gained 1.73% to close at 64.80.

The worst performers were SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR: SMHNn ) which was down 3.12% to 38.50 in late trade, Evotec AG O.N. (ETR: EVTG ) which lost 2.61% to settle at 7.01 and Aixtron SE (ETR: AIXGn ) which was down 2.35% to 12.44 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 335 to 281 and 29 ended unchanged.

Shares in Siemens Energy AG (ETR: ENR1n ) rose to all time highs; gaining 3.55% or 2.68 to 78.14. Shares in Rheinmetall AG (ETR: RHMG ) rose to all time highs; up 1.71% or 29.50 to 1,752.50. Shares in RENK Group AG (ETR: R3NK ) rose to all time highs; rising 3.86% or 2.31 to 62.19. Shares in AUTO1 Group SE (ETR: AG1G ) rose to 3-years highs; rising 2.93% or 0.70 to 24.60.

The DAX volatility index , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was up 0.90% to 18.01.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.43% or 45.59 to $3,232.89 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.92% or 0.57 to hit $62.54 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.69% or 0.45 to trade at $65.86 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.64% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.65% at 100.29.
