France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 0.04%
Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Oil & Gas , Basic Materials and Technology sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 fell 0.04%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.05%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were BNP Paribas SA (EPA: BNPP ), which rose 3.42% or 2.55 points to trade at 77.15 at the close. Meanwhile, Veolia Environnement VE SA (EPA: VIE ) added 1.74% or 0.53 points to end at 30.92 and Societe Generale SA (EPA: SOGN ) was up 1.28% or 0.62 points to 48.94 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kering SA (EPA: PRTP ), which fell 1.62% or 2.90 points to trade at 175.62 at the close. Stellantis NV (EPA: STLAM ) declined 1.22% or 0.12 points to end at 9.45 and STMicroelectronics NV (EPA: STMPA ) was down 1.11% or 0.26 points to 22.81.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Emeis SA (EPA: EMEIS ) which rose 5.22% to 10.89, BNP Paribas SA (EPA: BNPP ) which was up 3.42% to settle at 77.15 and ICADE (EPA: ICAD ) which gained 3.27% to close at 23.40.
The worst performers were Worldline SA (EPA: WLN ) which was down 6.21% to 4.72 in late trade, Fnac Darty SA (EPA: FNAC ) which lost 5.09% to settle at 31.70 and Voltalia SA (EPA: VLTSA ) which was down 3.68% to 7.72 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 253 to 241 and 79 ended unchanged.
Shares in Societe Generale SA (EPA: SOGN ) rose to 5-year highs; up 1.28% or 0.62 to 48.94. Shares in Worldline SA (EPA: WLN ) fell to all time lows; falling 6.21% or 0.31 to 4.72.
The CAC 40 VIX , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.45% or 46.25 to $3,233.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.97% or 0.60 to hit $62.57 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.75% or 0.49 to trade at $65.90 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.61% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.63% at 100.31.
