Greece stocks higher at close of trade; Athens General Composite up 0.37%

Investing.com – Greece stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Construction , Travel and Technology sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 0.37% to hit a new 5-year high.

The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Bank of Cyprus Holdings PLC (AT: BOCHGRr ), which rose 4.18% or 0.26 points to trade at 6.48 at the close. Meanwhile, Athens International Airport SA (AT: AIAr ) added 3.17% or 0.30 points to end at 9.75 and Interlife General Insurance Company SA (AT: INLIFr ) was up 2.38% or 0.12 points to 5.16 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Dimand Societe Anonyme for Real Estate Constructions (AT: DIMANDr ), which fell 4.20% or 0.36 points to trade at 8.22 at the close. Lavipharm SA (AT: LPHr ) declined 2.10% or 0.02 points to end at 0.79 and Intralot (AT: INLr ) was down 1.85% or 0.02 points to 1.06.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 66 to 65 and 11 ended unchanged.

Shares in Bank of Cyprus Holdings PLC (AT: BOCHGRr ) rose to all time highs; rising 4.18% or 0.26 to 6.48. Shares in Athens International Airport SA (AT: AIAr ) rose to all time highs; rising 3.17% or 0.30 to 9.75.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.59% or 50.61 to $3,237.91 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.13% or 0.08 to hit $61.89 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.18% or 0.12 to trade at $65.29 a barrel.

EUR/USD was up 0.82% to 1.13, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.13% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.81% at 100.13.
