U.K. stocks higher at close of trade; Investing.com United Kingdom 100 up 0.94%
Investing.com – U.K. stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Mobile Telecommunications , Electrical and Food Producers sectors led shares higher.
At the close in London, the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 added 0.94% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the Investing.com United Kingdom 100 were Diploma PLC (LON: DPLM ), which rose 15.11% or 638.00 points to trade at 4,860.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Vodafone Group PLC (LON: VOD ) added 7.26% or 5.26 points to end at 77.72 and Smiths Group PLC (LON: SMIN ) was up 4.38% or 90.00 points to 2,144.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Entain PLC (LON: ENT ), which fell 1.53% or 11.80 points to trade at 758.80 at the close. Bunzl PLC (LON: BNZL ) declined 1.43% or 36.00 points to end at 2,490.00 and Flutter Entertainment PLC (LON: FLTRF ) was down 0.91% or 170.00 points to 18,445.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the London Stock Exchange by 1192 to 598 and 563 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.57% or 50.91 to $3,284.41 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.55% or 0.34 to hit $61.80 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.61% or 0.40 to trade at $65.14 a barrel.
GBP/USD was unchanged 0.07% to 1.34, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 100.09.
