Portugal stocks higher at close of trade; PSI up 1.75%
Investing.com – Portugal stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Utilities , Industrials and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Lisbon, the PSI rose 1.75% to hit a new 5-year high.
The best performers of the session on the PSI were Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI: MOTA ), which rose 4.88% or 0.22 points to trade at 4.77 at the close. Meanwhile, EDP Renovaveis (ELI: EDPR ) added 4.11% or 0.37 points to end at 9.26 and EDP Energias de Portugal SA (ELI: EDP ) was up 2.99% or 0.10 points to 3.51 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Galp Energia Nom (ELI: GALP ), which fell 0.04% or 0.01 points to trade at 14.03 at the close. Ibersol SGPS (ELI: IBS ) unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to end at 9.18 and Jeronimo Martins SGPS SA (ELI: JMT ) was up 0.37% or 0.08 points to 21.90.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 22 to 6 and 1 ended unchanged.
Shares in Mota Engil SGPS SA (ELI: MOTA ) rose to 52-week highs; rising 4.88% or 0.22 to 4.77.
Brent oil for July delivery was down 0.63% or 0.41 to $65.13 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.60% or 0.37 to hit $61.77 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 1.56% or 50.50 to trade at $3,284.00 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.12% to 1.13, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 100.12.
