Investing.com – Germany stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Utilities , Technology and Food & Beverages sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Frankfurt, the DAX added 0.34% to hit a new all time high, while the MDAX index added 1.22%, and the TecDAX index climbed 0.48%.

The best performers of the session on the DAX were Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (ETR: FMEG ), which rose 3.87% or 2.00 points to trade at 53.66 at the close. Meanwhile, RWE AG ST O.N. (ETR: RWEG ) added 3.06% or 0.99 points to end at 33.39 and Bayer AG NA (ETR: BAYGN ) was up 2.25% or 0.52 points to 23.43 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Heidelberg Materials AG (ETR: HEIG ), which fell 1.62% or 3.05 points to trade at 185.60 at the close. Zalando SE (ETR: ZALG ) declined 1.61% or 0.50 points to end at 30.62 and Allianz SE VNA O.N. (ETR: ALVG ) was down 1.08% or 3.80 points to 347.80.

The top performers on the MDAX were Thyssenkrupp AG O.N. (ETR: TKAG ) which rose 6.34% to 8.85, HelloFresh SE (ETR: HFGG ) which was up 5.55% to settle at 10.75 and RENK Group AG (ETR: R3NK ) which gained 4.92% to close at 65.25.

The worst performers were Gerresheimer AG (ETR: GXIG ) which was down 2.57% to 58.80 in late trade, Delivery Hero AG (ETR: DHER ) which lost 1.61% to settle at 26.27 and Fuchs Se Pref (ETR: FPE3_p ) which was down 1.23% to 44.88 at the close.

The top performers on the TecDAX were Hensoldt Ag (ETR: HAGG ) which rose 3.20% to 77.40, Nordex SE O.N. (ETR: NDXG ) which was up 2.99% to settle at 17.90 and Aixtron SE (ETR: AIXGn ) which gained 2.57% to close at 12.77.

The worst performers were SUSS MicroTec SE (ETR: SMHNn ) which was down 1.30% to 38.00 in late trade, Atoss Software AG (ETR: AOFG ) which lost 1.20% to settle at 131.60 and Nemetschek AG O.N. (ETR: NEKG ) which was down 0.82% to 120.30 at the close.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange by 389 to 226 and 26 ended unchanged.

Shares in Fresenius Medical Care KGAA ST (ETR: FMEG ) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 3.87% or 2.00 to 53.66. Shares in RENK Group AG (ETR: R3NK ) rose to all time highs; rising 4.92% or 3.06 to 65.25.

The DAX volatility index , which measures the implied volatility of DAX options, was down 0.38% to 17.94.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.52% or 49.19 to $3,282.69 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.72% or 0.45 to hit $61.69 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.76% or 0.50 to trade at $65.04 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.12% to 1.13, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 100.13.
