France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 0.75%
Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Utilities , Consumer Services and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 0.75% to hit a new 1-month high, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.73%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Kering SA (EPA: PRTP ), which rose 3.97% or 6.98 points to trade at 182.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Orange SA (EPA: ORAN ) added 3.83% or 0.49 points to end at 13.28 and Compagnie Generale des Etablissements Michelin SCA (EPA: MICP ) was up 2.29% or 0.79 points to 35.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Hermes International SCA (EPA: HRMS ), which fell 0.35% or 9.00 points to trade at 2,550.00 at the close. Accor SA (EPA: ACCP ) declined 0.27% or 0.13 points to end at 47.40 and AXA SA (EPA: AXAF ) was down 0.14% or 0.06 points to 41.61.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Worldline SA (EPA: WLN ) which rose 8.44% to 5.11, Voltalia SA (EPA: VLTSA ) which was up 4.93% to settle at 8.10 and Emeis SA (EPA: EMEIS ) which gained 4.68% to close at 11.40.
The worst performers were Nexity (EPA: NEXI ) which was down 4.09% to 9.49 in late trade, Argan (EPA: ARGAN ) which lost 1.74% to settle at 62.30 and X Fab Silicon Foundries EV (EPA: XFAB ) which was down 1.60% to 5.22 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 288 to 186 and 96 ended unchanged.
Shares in Orange SA (EPA: ORAN ) rose to 5-year highs; up 3.83% or 0.49 to 13.28.
The CAC 40 VIX , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.49% or 48.11 to $3,281.61 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.76% or 0.47 to hit $61.67 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.78% or 0.51 to trade at $65.03 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.12% to 1.13, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.16% at 100.13.
