Belgium stocks higher at close of trade; BEL 20 up 0.95%

Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Utilities , Basic Materials and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.95%.

The best performers of the session on the BEL 20 were Umicore SA (EBR: UMI ), which rose 3.92% or 0.34 points to trade at 8.88 at the close. Meanwhile, Syensqo SA (EBR: SYENS ) added 2.77% or 1.76 points to end at 65.36 and Cofinimmo SA (EBR: COFB ) was up 2.16% or 1.60 points to 75.75 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Solvay SA (EBR: SOLB ), which fell 0.27% or 0.08 points to trade at 29.16 at the close. D’Ieteren NV (EBR: IETB ) added 0.11% or 0.20 points to end at 183.80 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (EBR: ABI ) was up 0.16% or 0.10 points to 60.84.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 79 to 21 and 10 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.51% or 48.69 to $3,282.19 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.84% or 0.52 to hit $61.62 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.87% or 0.57 to trade at $64.97 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.12% to 1.13, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 100.11.
