Turkey stocks lower at close of trade; BIST 100 down 1.60%

Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Wholesale & Retail Trade , Metal Products & Machinery and Technology sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 1.60%.

The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Ard Grup Bilisim Teknolojileri AS (IS: ARDYZ ), which rose 5.93% or 1.70 points to trade at 30.38 at the close. Meanwhile, Kontrolmatik Teknoloji Enerji ve Mu (IS: KONTR ) added 3.92% or 1.06 points to end at 28.10 and Oba Makarnacilik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS: OBAMS ) was up 2.95% or 2.10 points to 73.30 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Isiklar Enerji ve Yapi Holding AS (IS: IEYHO ), which fell 5.71% or 0.80 points to trade at 13.20 at the close. Tofas Turk Otomobil Fabrikasi AS (IS: TOASO ) declined 5.61% or 12.20 points to end at 205.10 and Ford Otomotiv Sanayi AS (IS: FROTO ) was down 4.96% or 4.80 points to 91.95.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 381 to 199 and 12 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.46% or 47.14 to $3,280.64 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.72% or 0.45 to hit $61.69 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.76% or 0.50 to trade at $65.04 a barrel.

USD/TRY was up 0.15% to 38.83, while EUR/TRY rose 0.25% to 43.75.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 100.12.
