Brazil stocks higher at close of trade; Bovespa up 0.34%

Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Real Estate , Public Utilities and Financials sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Sao Paulo, the Bovespa gained 0.34% to hit a new all time high.

The best performers of the session on the Bovespa were JBS SA (BVMF: JBSS3 ), which rose 4.79% or 1.92 points to trade at 42.01 at the close. Meanwhile, Marfrig Alimentos SA (BVMF: MRFG3 ) added 4.31% or 1.01 points to end at 24.47 and Grupo Vamos SA (BVMF: VAMO3 ) was up 4.21% or 0.19 points to 4.70 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Cogna Educacao SA (BVMF: COGN3 ), which fell 7.79% or 0.24 points to trade at 2.84 at the close. YDUQS Participacoes SA (BVMF: YDUQ3 ) declined 5.07% or 0.80 points to end at 14.97 and Natura & Co SA (BVMF: NTCO3 ) was down 3.17% or 0.34 points to 10.39.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 548 to 386 and 65 ended unchanged.

The CBOE Brazil Etf Volatility , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was down 9.44% to 26.08 a new 3-months low.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.81% or 58.52 to $3,292.02 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 0.03% or 0.02 to hit $62.16 a barrel, while the July US coffee C contract fell 1.53% or 5.75 to trade at $368.95 .

USD/BRL was up 0.30% to 5.67, while EUR/BRL rose 0.70% to 6.40.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.39% at 99.90.
