Portugal stocks lower at close of trade; PSI down 0.26%

Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Utilities , Consumer Services and Basic Materials sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Lisbon, the PSI lost 0.26%.

The best performers of the session on the PSI were CTT Correios de Portugal SA (ELI: CTT ), which rose 2.12% or 0.15 points to trade at 7.24 at the close. Meanwhile, Ibersol SGPS (ELI: IBS ) added 1.96% or 0.18 points to end at 9.36 and Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI: BCP ) was up 1.13% or 0.01 points to 0.64 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were EDP Renovaveis (ELI: EDPR ), which fell 2.49% or 0.23 points to trade at 9.03 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (ELI: GALP ) declined 1.11% or 0.16 points to end at 13.87 and Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI: RENE ) was down 0.69% or 0.02 points to 2.87.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 15 to 13 and 2 ended unchanged.

Shares in Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI: BCP ) rose to 5-year highs; up 1.13% or 0.01 to 0.64.

Brent oil for July delivery was down 0.67% or 0.44 to $64.94 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.69% or 0.43 to hit $61.60 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.89% or 29.39 to trade at $3,313.99 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was up 0.57% to 1.13, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.66% at 99.32.
