France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 0.40%
Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Consumer Goods , Oil & Gas and Industrials sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.40%, while the SBF 120 index fell 0.39%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were L’Oreal SA (EPA: OREP ), which rose 1.15% or 4.40 points to trade at 385.45 at the close. Meanwhile, Capgemini SE (EPA: CAPP ) added 1.14% or 1.70 points to end at 150.35 and Carrefour SA (EPA: CARR ) was up 0.65% or 0.10 points to 14.77 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kering SA (EPA: PRTP ), which fell 2.54% or 4.64 points to trade at 177.96 at the close. LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton SE (EPA: LVMH ) declined 2.23% or 11.25 points to end at 493.65 and Hermes International SCA (EPA: HRMS ) was down 2.12% or 54.00 points to 2,496.00.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were SES (EPA: SESFd ) which rose 3.58% to 5.13, ID Logistics SAS (EPA: IDLA ) which was up 2.10% to settle at 414.00 and Atos SE (EPA: ATOS ) which gained 1.83% to close at 36.97.
The worst performers were Emeis SA (EPA: EMEIS ) which was down 5.88% to 10.73 in late trade, Elior Group (EPA: ELIOR ) which lost 5.45% to settle at 2.71 and Clariane SE (EPA: CLARI ) which was down 4.10% to 3.75 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 269 to 215 and 94 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX , which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.90% or 29.41 to $3,314.01 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.31% or 0.19 to hit $61.84 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.29% or 0.19 to trade at $65.19 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.54% to 1.13, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.64% at 99.34.
