Turkey stocks lower at close of trade; BIST 100 down 1.21%
Investing.com – Turkey stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Sports , Transport and Basic Metals sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Istanbul, the BIST 100 declined 1.21%.
The best performers of the session on the BIST 100 were Enerya Enerji AS (IS: ENERY ), which rose 6.39% or 0.32 points to trade at 5.33 at the close. Meanwhile, SASA Polyester Sanayi AS (IS: SASA ) added 3.95% or 0.14 points to end at 3.68 and Avrupakent Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi AS (IS: AVPGY ) was up 1.87% or 1.00 points to 54.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Vestel Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS: VESTL ), which fell 5.68% or 2.34 points to trade at 38.88 at the close. Celebi Hava Servisi AS (IS: CLEBI ) declined 4.48% or 91.00 points to end at 1,941.00 and Turkiye Halk Bankasi (IS: HALKB ) was down 4.09% or 0.88 points to 20.66.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Istanbul Stock Exchange by 399 to 176 and 16 ended unchanged.
Shares in Enerya Enerji AS (IS: ENERY ) rose to all time highs; gaining 6.39% or 0.32 to 5.33. Shares in Vestel Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS (IS: VESTL ) fell to 52-week lows; falling 5.68% or 2.34 to 38.88.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.86% or 28.39 to $3,312.99 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.35% or 0.22 to hit $61.81 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.38% or 0.25 to trade at $65.13 a barrel.
USD/TRY was up 0.06% to 38.81, while EUR/TRY rose 0.42% to 44.05.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.60% at 99.38.
