Russia stocks lower at close of trade; MOEX Russia Index down 0.41%

Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Mining , Power and Telecoms sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index declined 0.41%.

The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were PhosAgro PJSC (MCX: PHOR ), which rose 0.70% or 46.00 points to trade at 6,576.00 at the close. Meanwhile, LUKOIL PJSC (MCX: LKOH ) added 0.24% or 16.00 points to end at 6,600.00 and NOVATEK PJSC (MCX: NVTK ) was up 0.23% or 2.60 points to 1,143.60 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Moskovskiy Kreditnyi Bank PAO (MCX: CBOM ), which fell 5.21% or 0.40 points to trade at 7.27 at the close. PIK SHb PJSC (MCX: PIKK ) declined 4.06% or 19.50 points to end at 461.00 and OK Rusal MKPAO (MCX: RUAL ) was down 3.15% or 1.03 points to 31.72.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 177 to 65 and 10 ended unchanged.

The Russian Volatility Index – RVI , which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was up 1.18% to 41.14.

Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.98% or 32.15 to $3,316.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.10% or 0.68 to hit $61.35 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.95% or 0.62 to trade at $64.76 a barrel.

USD/RUB was unchanged 0.00% to 79.74, while EUR/RUB unchanged 0.00% to 90.35.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.50% at 99.48.
