Russia stocks lower at close of trade; MOEX Russia Index down 2.51%

Investing.com – Russia stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Mining , Oil & Gas and Power sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index declined 2.51% to hit a new 1-month low.

The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were GDR ROS AGRO PLC ORD SHS (MCX: AGRODR ), which unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to trade at 1,083.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Moskovskiy Kreditnyi Bank PAO (MCX: CBOM ) fell 0.13% or 0.01 points to end at 6.27 and Transneft PJSC Pref (MCX: TRNF_p ) was down 0.16% or 2.00 points to 1,230.00 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were NOVATEK PJSC (MCX: NVTK ), which fell 4.42% or 47.60 points to trade at 1,030.00 at the close. Gazprom PJSC (MCX: GAZP ) declined 4.36% or 5.72 points to end at 125.41 and Aeroflot PJSC (MCX: AFLT ) was down 4.07% or 2.73 points to 64.36.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 231 to 16 and 5 ended unchanged.

Shares in GDR ROS AGRO PLC ORD SHS (MCX: AGRODR ) unchanged to 52-week lows; unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to 1,083.80.

The Russian Volatility Index – RVI , which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was up 6.39% to 41.76.

Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.00% or 0.10 to $3,370.60 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $61.53 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.05% or 0.03 to trade at $64.18 a barrel.

USD/RUB was unchanged 0.00% to 79.86, while EUR/RUB unchanged 0.00% to 90.80.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 98.87.
