Russia stocks higher at close of trade; MOEX Russia Index up 1.43%

Investing.com – Russia stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms , Oil & Gas and Mining sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index rose 1.43%.

The best performers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were PIK SHb PJSC (MCX: PIKK ), which rose 7.64% or 36.20 points to trade at 510.00 at the close. Meanwhile, VK Company Ltd (MCX: VKCO ) added 6.25% or 15.10 points to end at 256.80 and Rostelekom PJSC (MCX: RTKM ) was up 4.83% or 2.55 points to 55.34 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Polyus PJSC (MCX: PLZL ), which fell 0.54% or 9.00 points to trade at 1,654.00 at the close. Unipro PJSC (MCX: UPRO ) unchanged 0.26% or 0.00 points to end at 1.56 and Magnit PJSC (MCX: MGNT ) was down 0.20% or 7.50 points to 3,743.00.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Moscow Stock Exchange by 179 to 62 and 13 ended unchanged.

Shares in Polyus PJSC (MCX: PLZL ) fell to 5-year lows; losing 0.54% or 9.00 to 1,654.00. Shares in Unipro PJSC (MCX: UPRO ) unchanged to 52-week lows; unchanged 0.26% or 0.00 to 1.56. Shares in Magnit PJSC (MCX: MGNT ) fell to 3-years lows; down 0.20% or 7.50 to 3,743.00.

The Russian Volatility Index – RVI , which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was down 0.69% to 40.48.

Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.98% or 67.20 to $3,327.30 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.73% or 0.45 to hit $61.08 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 0.64% or 0.41 to trade at $63.71 a barrel.

USD/RUB was unchanged 0.00% to 80.72, while EUR/RUB unchanged 0.00% to 90.92.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.50% at 99.51.
